WordPress Editing Guide Bonus: WordPress Plugins

Missed the rest of the guide? Check out Part I: Page Editor, Part II: Editor Tabs, and Part III: Admin Tabs.

I found these three WordPress plugins to be helpful on a site I built; you might, as well. They’re all free, as of this writing.

Slideshow by Stephan Boonstra
Add a fancy slideshow to your site. A Slideshows tab will appear, allowing you to edit the listed sets.

Insert Slideshow: This option appears in the site editor when this plugin is installed. After creating a slideshow in the Slideshows tab, add it to a page here.

 Slideshow Editor
     Information
Paste the shortcode (e.g., “[slideshow_deploy id=’100’]”) into a Web page to display the current slideshow.
    Slideshow Style
Choose between “Light” or “Dark” styles.
    Slideshow Settings
Change the options here to alter the slideshow’s transition style, speed, and other settings. Changing the height and width dimensions may affect your Web page layout.
    Slideshow List
Choose “Image slide”, “Text slide”, or “Video slide” to add a slide of the appropriate type. Current settings do not display the title, description, or URL (Web page link).

     Publish
See PAGE EDITOR for details.
[Publish]/[Update]: Press the blue button to save and publish all changes.

vCita Contact
Create a contact box for your site, with a variety of options including full-page form, appointment setting, and more. The plugin’s vCita Contact tab contains settings for your website contact form. It can be added or changed in the admin account’s Widgets section.

There are three options:
Active Engage: Pop-up window appears with a contact form.
Contact Form: This can be a Web page sidebar or full-page form. Changing the sidebar placement requires editing the website code.
Sidebar: This allows a contact form to be displayed in the sidebar or another area of the website.

BWS Plugins
Create website galleries with this plugin. A BWS Plugins tab will appear for you to edit settings.
